Why should we get rid of alcohol?

Alcohol has become a major problem in society, causing many negative side-effects. It is estimated that alcohol causes over 600,000 deaths per year and damages approximately $250 billion of personal property. Alcohol also leads to crime, increases the risk of sexual violence, and is responsible for 43% (roughly half) of traffic accidents. Alcoholism also affects every level of our society: entire families are affected by alcoholism as well as communities in which we live. There are more than 7 million people currently living with an alcohol use disorder (AUD). Anytime you hear about someone dying from alcohol related diseases or someone being charged with drunk driving/drunken driving, it's directly because they caused those tragedies by drinking too much. The following argument is a basic argument against the use of alcohol in society, with the central premise being that drinking causes social problems.
The Argument
The evidence for this claim is from a variety of sources that either show some direct correlation between alcohol and negative social effects or simply show that one does not have to be in close proximity to drink to have negative consequences. Many people believe that if two people don't know each other well, they should stay away from each other while drinking. And many people believe that it is socially acceptable to get drunk with someone on a regular basis. However, both these beliefs are false.
Inebriated by alcohol, people become more hostile and belligerent. There is a general increase in social violence when more people are drinking.
Most people realize that alcohol is a problem, either for the individual or for society; however, many people believe that it's not worth trying to ban alcohol or even cut back on it. They think that regulating its use is enough. Well, nothing can be less true than this statement. Alcohol causes a lot of health problems and addiction problems as well as leads to many deaths worldwide.
There are no healthy effects from consuming any amount of alcohol and therefore it should be completely banned in our society in order to improve on the quality of our lives.
If you look at the lives of people who drink a lot, you will notice that they are very different from the lives of people who do not drink at all. Drinking leads to many problems for people:
1. Alcohol can lead to death. More than 6000 people die from drinking each year in the U.S. alone.
People are dying as a direct result of alcohol consumption every day and that number is only going to increase if we continue to allow legal access to alcohol.
2. Alcohol ruins personal relationships for both drinkers and others around them due to violence and other negative effects on people's mental states, including their ability to make decisions about their future and how they spend time with those around them.

What is the true meaning of lesbians?

Lesbians. The word evokes many different emotions for many different people but what is the true meaning of lesbians? To start, it was believed to be translated from French as "laies," which means "female who loves women." In the early 20th century, it defined a woman with a propensity to bond with other females. This inclination is usually displayed through heterosexual relationships. The definition did not stop there: There are also lesbian feminists as well as gay men and lesbian males that identify as lesbians. In more recent years, scholars such as Kate Bornstein and Michel Foucault have expanded the meaning of lesbians to encompass various identities that are un-defined by sexual preference or gender identity. Although in the '70s and '80s, it was popular to identify as lesbian and to have a sexual relationship with another woman, it has since broadened to include gender-fluid individuals, bisexuals, and transgender individuals. Nowadays, t...

Relationship: Do You Really Need It? This Will Help You Decide!

Relationships are wonderful when they work, but not so great for when they don't. Breaking up is never easy, so what can you do to make it easier? We'll help you decide if staying in a stale relationship is the best option for you. Relationship Tip #1:  Separate the Past from the Present If the relationship is over, it's over. Don't try to cling to a ghost of a relationship that existed in the past. The past may be a place you'd love to return to, but if it doesn't exist anymore and hasn't existed for a while, don't waste your time trying to bring back something that only exists in your memories. Focus on the here and now. Why do you want to stay in a relationship that isn't working for you? Is it fear? Do you worry about being alone? Are you being overly dependent on your partner because it's comfortable to have them around and difficult to imagine life without them?  Relationship Tip #2:  Figure Out What You Want Why are you in a relationship? ...

What are the consequences in the first month of pregnancy?

Pregnancy is a time of great change and growth in an expecting mother's life. One of the most important milestones during pregnancy are the changes that happen to her body. During this first month, there are several effects that can be seen on a woman's body such as increased blood volume, expansion of tissues, release of hormones and fluids in preparation for delivery. These signs are often referred to as the "Pregnancy Week by Week" or "The First Month". This blog post delves into what these symptoms mean and what potential consequences they may carry with them. Pregnancy Week by Week This is the first month of gestation, and is typically calculated from the last normal menstrual period (LNMP). A typical cycle may include a woman's most fertile days, which occur during ovulation. The release of an egg from the ovaries causes the lining of the uterus to thicken in preparation for fertilization. Inadequate preparation of this mucus layer can ...
