The bra size industry is designed to fail women. Here are some reasons why:
1) The standard sizing system is flawed in many ways, and creates a lot of confusion for women on how best to find their perfect fit.
2) Most retail stores sell the bras off the rack, which often comes with no advice on what size would be best for them.
3) There are no standards or international measurement systems that decide bra sizing and create similarity among measurements from nation to nation.
4) The manufacturers and retailers of lingerie are to blame for catering to an older customer base that already has a grip on their own size and does not want any help in knowing what would be best for them.
5) In most cases retailers use the vanity sizing system (smaller cup size, larger band size). This makes it harder on women who are larger in the breast and chest area.
6) Bras are marketed to younger women with perky breasts, but not to women who actually need proper support.
7) There are no Bra fitters in retail stores that could help women better understand their true size and correct fitting of bras. The whole process is left up to the woman and they have no one to turn to for further advice on what their real size would be.
8) Online bra fitting websites leave everything up to the woman on what her exact size is. Women cannot expect an online bra fitting form or chart, an email or a customer service representative who answers all their questions about bras sizes, fittings and advice on how best to find the right bra for them.
9) The bra size industry is driven by sales and profit, not by the true needs of women.
10) Many women are not aware of the proper bra size, therefore have no idea what their actual band size is. They keep going up and down in sizes looking for the perfect fit. This creates a lot of waste of money because they keep buying bras.
11) Women who are larger in the breast or chest area cannot find bras that fit right without having to look for specialty stores and buying online. They may end up wearing the wrong bra size, which can lead to back pain and a host of other problems.
